Hello World! My name, as you may have guessed, is Anthony Mattke. I am a network engineer in northern Indiana with over 15 years of experience in the IT industry. I’m also an occasional guest on the Packet Pushers podcast and blog, a Tech Field Day delegate, a pseudo introvert, and suffer from severe ADHD when it comes to my hobbies.
Seriously… I have an obsession control issue when it comes to hobbies… I think it all comes back to my desire to learn and discover. Once I get hooked on something I can’t stop researching and exploring the topic. Some of my other hobbies include bad photography, watch collecting, watching my mountain bike hang on the garage wall, saving babies from trees, not bowling, being too scared to fly my rc helicopter and selling it, amateur pyrotechnics, beer, collecting useless crap, video gaming, keeping freshwater cichlids, rescuing kittens from fires, pistol/rifle collecting along with target shooting.
As a technical blogger, I tend to talk about a lot of things in the industry.. but I don’t get to talk a lot about what is happening in my life. While I feel need that I do need to step up my game when it comes to technical writing, I also feel that I have a few things I would like to talk about when it comes to my personal life.
Because of that, and a few other reasons, I decided to build this site. Hopefully this won’t be just another personal project that never gets enough attention…. and if it does feel free to call me out on it!
